Norman Reedus & Helena Christensen’s Son Mingus Arrested for Assault

Mingus Reedus is in trouble with the law.

The offspring of renowned celebrities Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen was taken into custody by the New York City Police Department on August 23rd. As reported by People, this individual has since faced charges for obstructing another person’s breathing and assault.

Based on NYPD reports, authorities found a 33-year-old woman with minor injuries to her neck and leg upon arrival at the intersection of 16th Street and 8th Avenue. Mingus, aged 25, was subsequently arrested, and the investigation continues.

Authorities reported, as stated by the outlet, that “EMS provided aid and took the injured individual to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in a stable state.

Mingus’ latest arrest occurred about four years after a similar incident, where he was previously taken into custody for assaulting a woman during the San Gennaro festival in Little Italy. (In March 2022, Mingus agreed to a plea bargain for the reduced charge of disorderly conduct.)

Based on reports from the NYPD, officials were dispatched to a reported assault incident that transpired close to Mulberry Street and Baxter Street, which is near the 5th Precinct.

A young woman, whose identity remains unclear, shared with local authorities that she had a heated argument with a man named Mingus. During this encounter, Mingus is said to have struck the woman in the face. As a result of this altercation, the woman suffered an injury near her left eye. Police confirmed this incident and stated that she was taken to Downtown Hospital in New York for treatment.

Later on, Mingus shared his account of the incident with The New York Daily News. He claimed that, following a confrontation by the victim and her companions towards him and his team, he instinctively extended his arm for self-defense, unintentionally striking the woman in the process.

In his explanation about the event in September 2021, he stated that it was a natural response. He was simply defending himself when they came at him in numbers, feeling concerned for the well-being of those with him.

Initially, we paid no mind to it, but a group of five girls trailed us for about two city blocks, pelting us with food and shouting. We asked them to back off, but they persisted, even menacingly threatening harm to my partner and her companion.

After that, he remembered extending his arms to protect himself from the woman and her group. In the process, unfortunately, he ended up striking one of them.

In just a blink of an eye, ten seconds felt like an eternity, and before I knew it, the police were on the scene. As an ardent fan, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of dismay when I witnessed one of the girls injured. Yet, despite my pleas to share the context, the officers seemed unwilling to listen. On that particular day, my sole intention was to maintain a low profile and engage in honest play.
