Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s 12-year-old daughter recently turned heads with her bold new manicure, which included spikes and piercings on top of a sparkly, light blue base.

On March 12th, North shared a close-up of her unique nail art on Instagram. Her long, rectangular, sheer blue nails were decorated with silver studs and rings. Two nails had hot pink writing, and she accessorized her right ring finger with a small, dangling silver gun charm.

The post’s background music was appropriately set to “Piercing on My Hand,” a song North released in January with her father.

The young girl shared a photo on her Instagram Story, playfully covering her mouth with her hand, which was decorated with sparkly embellishments. Her blue hair and a black, fuzzy hat and sweatshirt completed the look, and her nails matched her hair color.

Kim Kardashian isn’t afraid to try new things with her fashion. She recently tested out a new look by adding silver piercings to her index and middle fingers earlier in 2024.

North West isn’t just making a statement with her nails. She’s also experimented with her look by wearing black grills and blue contact lenses. She’s even used filters to virtually add piercings and tattoos to her face.

Despite some fans questioning her daughter’s style, Kim—who is also a mom to Saint, Chicago, and Psalm—has consistently supported her daughter’s right to express herself.

Kim Kardashian shared that her daughter is very self-assured. She explained on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper that her daughter will confidently respond to criticism – for example, about her hair color – by simply not caring what others think and choosing to spend time with people who are supportive.

In fact, Kim finds North’s confidence quite refreshing.

Honestly, I completely support my daughter’s self-expression. She wanted blue hair, and I was all for it! Seeing her happy is the most important thing, and I’d never stifle her creativity – it’s a beautiful part of who she is.

Okay, so like, I almost DIED when Kim Kardashian posted that TikTok back in January! She completely transformed herself, seriously! It was a full glam moment – tons of makeup, super dark brows, the whole deal. Then she finished with a nude lip, false lashes, and started posing while chewing gum and lip-syncing to Millie B’s ‘M to the B’! I’ve rewatched it a million times, honestly. It was EVERYTHING!

Kim Kardashian’s fans were surprised by her unusual eyebrows, but she later explained that her 10-year-old daughter, North, was behind the look. Kim joked on Twitter about the ‘bribes and bets’ she was making with North to get her to do it!

Last summer at Paris Fashion Week, North sent a clear message to the paparazzi. She famously held up a sign that simply said, “Stop.”

After their trip, Kim took to Twitter to reveal the backstory behind North’s note. 

Kim shared on Twitter that her daughter, North, is known for her sense of humor and apparently got fed up with paparazzi. Kim explained that North wrote ‘STOP’ on her invitation and held it up to protest the constant photos.

According to Kim, North simply “wanted them to just focus on the show” and not her.

North West playfully teased her mom, Kim Kardashian, by recreating one of Kim’s most talked-about looks from Paris Fashion Week – the outfit made of Balenciaga packing tape. In a TikTok video, North wrapped tape around her shirt and topped it off with a platinum blonde wig. She didn’t stop there, though! North also lip-synced to a mix of Kim’s famous lines from Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Megan Thee Stallion’s song “Savage,” poking even more fun at her mom. The video included recreations of iconic moments, like when Kim lost an earring in Bora Bora and when she playfully hit Khloé Kardashian with a purse while telling her not to be rude.

On December 18th, North West playfully pranked her mother, Kim Kardashian, in a TikTok video. North pretended to shave Kim’s eyebrows while Kim was sleeping.

The video’s caption jokingly pointed out North was using a filter to make Kim Kardashian’s eyebrows look thinner.

Let me tell you, as someone who’s seen a lot, even a calm morning can get a jolt! When North woke me up, I opened my eyes to see what all the fuss was about, and honestly? My first reaction was just, ‘North, this is not funny!’ It was one of those moments where you just have to say it!

Fans of Kim and North’s TikTok account will agree: North is a natural at makeup, just like her mom. Kim recently shared that one of North’s realistic makeup pranks—using special effects—almost led to a call to the police!

Kim told Allure magazine that a special effects makeup artist—who’s incredibly talented at creating realistic wounds and gore—did more than just apply makeup to her and her dog, Chicago, this summer. Kim rented a house, and the artist transformed the entire room to look like a crime scene as part of an elaborate prank.

Kim was too tired to clean up the mess, so she left it for the next day. She explained, “I was in a hurry to get to school.” The housekeeper arrived and mistakenly believed it was a serious crime scene, even trying to contact the police and the homeowner.

“It was bad,” Kim said. “I have photos and it’s crazy.”

North clearly doesn’t beet around the bush.

Last April, Kim shared a video on Instagram of the vegetables she’d just harvested from her garden – things like carrots, kale, and beets. While Kim thought they looked good, her daughter North jokingly said they looked “disgusting” from off-camera. Kim playfully acknowledged North’s honest opinion with a caption saying, “Thanks North.”

Forget a baby voice, Kim clearly has social media speech.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve noticed something many have pointed out – Kim often adjusts her voice in her videos! Back in September 2011, someone even directly asked her, ‘Why do you talk different?’ It’s a really common observation that her vocal style seems to shift depending on the content she’s creating.

Kim seemed surprised when asked if she sounded different in her videos, replying, “I’m still me! I don’t change how I talk.” She then wondered if she uses a different tone when demonstrating makeup techniques, and North responded by playfully mimicking her mom’s voice from those tutorials.

In May 2021, after Olivia Rodrigo sent Kim Kardashian a box of merchandise, Kim shared it with her followers on Instagram. She told them, “You all know how much I love ‘drivers license’!”

While filming, Kim’s daughter, North, unexpectedly interrupted, accusing her of not paying attention. Kim was surprised and laughed, responding, “Yes, I do! I listen to it all the time. Stop, North.” Kim then shared the video online with the caption “NORTH!!!!” and several laughing-crying emojis.
