All of the lights were shining on North West.
Twelve-year-old North West joined her father, Kanye West (also known as Ye), on stage during his concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 1st. They performed their two songs together, “Talking” and “Piercing On My Hand,” for a crowd of over 70,000 people.
North West showed up with her now-famous turquoise pigtails, sporting a casual outfit of black sneakers, pants, and a sweatshirt promoting the concert. She completed the look with oversized black sunglasses and a bold, sparkly skull and crossbones necklace.
Ye, who hadn’t performed live in Los Angeles since 2021, wore a completely gray outfit for the show.
The song “Piercing On My Hand” is a response to criticism the young artist has received regarding her style and piercings.
In the song, North raps about having a piercing on his hand and buying bands for others. He emphasizes that true friendship requires understanding. He often goes shopping in Japan and recounts a brief school experience, mentioning he was expelled after only two days.
Plus, she confirms in the song that she has no plans to alter her style choices any time soon.

In the song, she expresses a desire for more body modifications like piercings and tattoos, and says she wants to dye her hair blue and style it in braids. She also wants the music turned up loud and mentions wanting a lot of money – ‘100,000 racks’ (meaning $100,000).
This isn’t the first time North West has ignored criticism. Following complaints about her recent facial piercings, she posted a TikTok on December 15th where she lip-synced to a clip saying, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.”
She captioned the post, “This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.”
Kim Kardashian is letting her oldest daughter, North, express herself through her style, and she’s happy to support her individuality. She shares North, as well as Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, with her ex-husband, Ye.

Kim Kardashian shared that her daughter is developing a strong sense of self. She explained that her daughter will confidently respond to criticism – for example, about her hair color – by simply not caring what others think and choosing to spend time with people who do appreciate her for who she is. She shared this story during an October interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper.
Plus, Kim runs a tight ship in other areas of her kids’ lives.
Kim Kardashian addressed a common misunderstanding people have about her parenting style during a recent appearance on Khloe Kardashian’s podcast. She explained that people often think she’s too lenient with her daughter, North, acting like a friend rather than a parent. However, she clarified that North actually has many rules. Kim does allow North to express herself freely, and she embraces that individuality.

North West never forgets her bets.
Kim Kardashian surprised her TikTok followers last January with a dramatic makeover. She applied a full face of makeup, including bold eyebrows, finished with a nude lip and false eyelashes. She then posed for the camera, chewing gum and lip-syncing to Millie B’s popular song, “M to the B.”
Kim Kardashian’s fans were surprised by her unusual eyebrow look, but she later explained that her 10-year-old daughter, North, was behind it. Kim joked on Twitter about the “bribes and bets” she was making with North to get her to do it!

Last summer, while with Kim Kardashian at Paris Fashion Week, North sent a clear message to the paparazzi: she held up a sign that simply said “Stop.”
After their trip, Kim took to Twitter to reveal the backstory behind North’s note.
Kim Kardashian shared on Twitter that her daughter North found the constant paparazzi photos frustrating. North wrote ‘STOP’ on her invitation to a party and held it up, which Kim found amusing.
According to Kim, North simply “wanted them to just focus on the show” and not her.

North West hilariously impersonated her mom, Kim Kardashian, by recreating one of Kim’s most talked-about looks from Paris Fashion Week – the outfit made with packing tape. In a TikTok video, North wrapped some tape around her shirt and topped it off with a platinum blonde wig. She didn’t stop there, though! North also playfully teased Kim by lip-syncing to a mix of Kim’s famous lines from Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Megan Thee Stallion’s song “Savage.” The video included recreations of iconic Kim moments, like when she lost an earring in Bora Bora and when she playfully hit Khloé Kardashian with a purse while telling her not to be rude.

On December 18th, North West posted a TikTok video showing a prank on her mom, Kim Kardashian. In the video, North pretended to shave Kim’s eyebrows while she was sleeping.
The video’s caption jokingly pointed out North was using a filter to make Kim Kardashian’s eyebrows look thinner.
When North woke Kim up, Kim opened her eyes, saw what was happening on the screen, and jokingly said, “North, this isn’t funny.”

Fans of Kim and North’s TikTok account will agree: North is a natural at makeup, just like her mom. Kim recently shared that one of North’s elaborate makeup pranks, using special effects, almost led to a call to the police!
Kim told Allure magazine that she had a special effects makeup artist come to her house. The artist is so skilled at creating realistic wounds and blood that Kim rented a house this summer specifically for her to work. Not only did the artist prank Kim and apply the makeup to herself and her friend Chicago, but she also transformed the entire room to look like a crime scene.
Kim was too tired to clean up, so she left the mess for the next day. She explained, “I was in a hurry to get to school.” The housekeeper, thinking it was a serious crime scene, called the police and the homeowner.
“It was bad,” Kim said. “I have photos and it’s crazy.”

North clearly doesn’t beet around the bush.
Last April, Kim shared a video on Instagram of the vegetables she’d just harvested from her garden – carrots, kale, leeks, and beets. While Kim thought they looked great, her daughter North jokingly called them “disgusting” from off-camera during the filming. Kim playfully acknowledged North’s blunt honesty with a caption saying, “Thanks North.”

Forget a baby voice, Kim clearly has social media speech.
In a September 2011 video, North questioned why Kim sometimes changes the way she talks, pointing out that her voice seems different in her videos.
Kim seemed surprised when asked if her voice changed in her videos, replying, “I’m still the same person! I don’t sound any different.” She then asked if she spoke differently while filming makeup tutorials, and North responded by mimicking her mom’s voice from those videos.

It’s brutal out there for a mom of an Olivia Rodrigo fan.
As a huge Olivia Rodrigo fan, I was so excited when she sent Kim Kardashian a package of her merch back in May 2021! Kim actually shared it on her Instagram Story, and she even said to her followers, ‘You guys know I love ‘drivers license,’ which honestly, same! It was so cool to see those two worlds collide.
While Kim was filming, her daughter North unexpectedly interrupted, accusing her of not paying attention. Kim, clearly surprised, responded with laughter and told North to stop. Kim then shared the video online with a caption of “NORTH!!!!” and several laughing-crying emojis.
