While gaming consoles are becoming more similar, it doesn’t look like players who only use Xbox will be able to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the near future.
PlayStation has started publishing games from other companies, like the popular live service game Helldivers 2. However, Insomniac, one of PlayStation’s main development studios, has confirmed that they won’t be releasing their latest Spider-Man game on any platforms other than PlayStation.
When someone asked on X (formerly Twitter) if the game would be released on Xbox, the studio responded with a simple: “Not likely.” Although the original question is no longer available, you can still view their reply.
With rumors suggesting the next Xbox might support Steam, some players believe this game could eventually be playable on Xbox consoles.
While it’s technically true, we believe this is a bit of a stretch and doesn’t really prove anything useful.
If you’re eager to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it will be available as part of the PS Plus Extra subscription starting next week.
