Generative AI has the potential to reshape society more profoundly than any previous invention, fueled by the massive investment – hundreds of billions of dollars – it’s receiving.
As a big follower of AI, it’s fascinating to hear the different views from the heads of these leading companies. Demis Hassabis at Google DeepMind thinks we’re really close to creating true AI – what they call AGI – but worries we’re not prepared for the changes it will bring. Meanwhile, Sam Altman over at OpenAI seems to think AGI will arrive quickly and, surprisingly, won’t cause as much disruption as some people fear. It’s a pretty big difference in opinion!
Interestingly, several influential figures have recently shared their thoughts on the future of technology. Last year, Joe Rogan suggested that if Jesus were to return today, he’d likely appear as artificial intelligence. More recently, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang predicted that a supremely powerful AI – what some might call a “God AI” – could one day exist (according to a post by Haider on X).

According to the executive:
From what I can see, the idea of creating truly godlike AI feels incredibly distant – we’re talking timescales that could stretch across millennia, maybe even galactic ages. Honestly, trying to map a path from our current AI technology to something resembling ‘God AI’ just doesn’t seem realistic. I don’t believe any company genuinely thinks they’re close, and I haven’t seen any evidence that researchers have the tools or ability to even begin creating it.
According to Huang, a ‘God AI’ would be able to perfectly understand complex languages like those of genetics, molecules, proteins, amino acids, and physics. However, he stated that such an AI doesn’t currently exist.
We shouldn’t wait for a perfect, all-powerful AI to make progress. It’s unlikely to appear anytime soon, but the world can’t afford to pause and wait for it. We need to keep moving forward now, in the coming years, and beyond.
NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang
The executive believes AI represents the future of the computer industry. They also emphasized that businesses will increasingly need to incorporate AI, similar to how they currently rely on it for everyday tasks.

The news follows recent warnings from Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates about how quickly generative AI is improving. He’s urging the creation of rules and regulations to guide its development and use. Gates believes this technology could be used to create a bioterrorism weapon, potentially posing a greater threat to people than the COVID-19 pandemic.
