Nvidia DLSS 4.5 Wtih New Super Resolution Out Now, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation Set For Spring 2026

Nvidia has officially announced DLSS 4.5, the latest update to its DLSS technology for RTX graphics cards. This update includes improvements to image upscaling (Super Resolution) and introduces a significant new feature called Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. This feature, initially available only on RTX 50-series cards, can create up to five additional frames for each frame your graphics card renders, potentially boosting frame rates beyond 240 FPS in compatible games. It’s powered by a new, more advanced transformer.

Nvidia’s new Dynamic Multi Frame Generation is a significant upgrade, offering up to six times the performance boost of previous versions, which topped out at four times. This translates to up to a 35

This feature intelligently adjusts the graphics card’s output to match your monitor’s refresh rate. It only creates extra frames when needed, based on whether your monitor runs at speeds like 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz, or faster. The system constantly checks the difference between how quickly your graphics card is working and your monitor’s refresh rate, and automatically increases frame generation to smooth out any performance issues.

Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5 significantly improves image quality by utilizing five times the processing power of the original DLSS transformer model. This boost is achieved through training on a larger dataset. Nvidia claims the updated Super Resolution technology now understands scenes better, intelligently using data from the game engine to create images with enhanced lighting, sharper details, and clearer motion.

Nvidia explains that the latest DLSS update moves away from older techniques that sometimes lost detail and darkened shadows, especially in scenes with strong contrasts. The new AI model allows it to directly recreate details, resulting in a clearer image. While this updated version is slightly more demanding on your system than the previous transformer-based DLSS, Nvidia says the performance difference is minimal.

The latest Nvidia app update brings DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, letting users choose from different DLSS settings. The “Latest” setting includes the newest improvements, and a new “Ultra Performance Mode” is available for 4K gaming under the “Custom” options. A future update planned for Spring 2026 will introduce Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, but it will only work with the next generation RTX 50-series graphics cards. When it launches, this feature will be supported in over 250 games and applications through the Nvidia app.
