From what I understand, Digital Foundry’s report suggests that Oblivion Remastered may not be performing optimally yet on PlayStation 5, as it still encounters significant issues even after a recent update.
Update 1.2, launched approximately two weeks back, has been specifically engineered to tackle several performance glitches, user interface hiccups, and random system crashes. For a comprehensive rundown of the changes, please refer to the detailed patch notes via the provided link.
However, according to Digital Foundry, technical problems still remain.

Assessments conducted at the outlet suggest that the console versions are still in a less than optimal condition. According to the patch notes, performance enhancements were made in areas such as Deepscorn Hollow, Black Rock Caverns, and between Skingrad and Skingrad Castle. Therefore, Digital Foundry undertook comparative studies of frame rates in these locations, referencing their earlier findings.
In their updated review, they mentioned that most of the fundamental problems we initially noticed in our first assessment persist on consoles. These include significant performance dips, frequent crashes, and a gradual decline in performance over extended playtime. The crash related to saving games seems to still be an issue, as is the problem where the game performs progressively worse the more you play it.
In summary, the outlet found it disheartening for console Oblivion fans as the issues within the game seem to be deeply rooted, suggesting that even after multiple months of attempts to fix these problems through patches, there has been no significant improvement. This isn’t the grand celebration of a Bethesda classic we anticipated, and the extended wait for a patch hasn’t led to a significant change in the game’s status.
