Nestled on the vast continent of Orsterra, the world where the initial Octopath Traveler unfolded, the prequel, Octopath Traveler 0, revolves around themes of vengeance and rejuvenation centered around the mystical rings of deity.
In this new tale, we’ll delve into a narrative centered around retribution for the antagonists who devastated the protagonist’s home town. The story will also present a group of travelers embarking on an adventure together. Furthermore, we’ll provide insights into the protagonist’s profession – Town Building, and their action skills.

Let’s rebuild our hometown together with our companions!
In my adventure of rebuilding this town, I’m excited to set up a variety of essential facilities. Building a central Hub for cooking, expansive Fields and a Ranch for collecting and gathering diverse resources, along with a Shop, allows me to broaden my inventory with knowledge gained during my journeys and even secure exclusive trade goods. Each resident in our town possesses unique skills that prove beneficial, so it’s crucial to allocate them to the most fitting locations.
Action Skills
A new feature from this title.
Occasionally, you can acquire “Expertise” pieces, which provide flexible abilities that can be employed within the “Skill Application System.
By establishing a “Training Facility” within the town, you’ll have the opportunity to hone your allies’ abilities, master their skills, and even distribute their learned skills to other companions!
Customize characters to make them uniquely your own!
Ultimate Techniques
“Ultimate Techniques” turn the tide of battle!
In this game, extraordinary moves known as “Ultimate Maneuvers” become available. As the narrative unfolds, the main character acquires these abilities, while other characters can master them through training at the “practice area.” The Ultimate Maneuver’s power meter consists of various stages, and once it reaches its peak, the move can be executed at its strongest version (Level 3). This introduces a fresh strategic aspect to the Break & Boost mechanic.
The Protagonist’s Job
Additional customizations are available for the protagonist.
Throughout the unfolding narrative, the main character is presented with a variety of eight vocations to explore – these include being a Warrior, Merchant, Thief, Apothecary, Hunter, Cleric, Scholar, or Dancer.
For every task at hand, there’s a variety of tools and techniques to pick from, allowing you to select one that aligns best with your preferred approach, or even take into account the harmony with your teammates’ roles. Ultimately, the decision rests completely in your hands.
The game titled “Octopath Traveler 0” is scheduled to be released on December 4 globally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, current-gen PlayStation 4, existing Nintendo Switch consoles, and digitally through Steam and Microsoft Store on PC.
