At the upcoming Tokyo Game Show in September, Acquire, the team behind Octopath Traveler, plans to unveil a set of three brand-new games – in partnership with Red Dunes Games based in Abu Dhabi.
As a passionate follower, I’m thrilled to share that, as mentioned in a recent Forbes piece, this exciting collaboration will birth three fresh intellectual properties!
- Project Tremor
- City-shaking kaiju battles
- Project Umbra
- Dark fantasy hunts
- Project Shadowcar
- A shadowy espionage thriller
Without a doubt, Acquire has made a name for itself, having worked on renowned series such as Tenchu, Akiba’s Trip, and more recently, Mario & Luigi: Brothership for the Nintendo Switch.
Meanwhile, Red Dunes Games, a relatively new company founded in 2022, has primarily devoted its efforts towards independent video game development up until now.
CEO Sultan Darmaki said:
We’re thrilled to collaborate with the revered studio, Acquire, in creating the upcoming generation of unique video games. This alliance symbolizes our conviction that the future of gaming is in international teamwork, where tales transcend boundaries, and novelty transcends geographical limitations.
The three projects discussed earlier are set to debut on prominent gaming platforms such as the PS5, and it’s important to note that their unveiling is scheduled for the Tokyo Game Show in September, as was noted before.
