Oliver Hudson Reveals How He’s “Deepened the Sex” With Erinn Bartlett

Oliver Hudsonhas no rules of engagement when it comes to describing intimacy.

The actor from Nashville shared that his intimate relationship with his wife of nearly 20 years, Erinn Bartlett, has significantly improved since he focused on his mental wellbeing.

In an interview with US Weekly published on December 2nd, 49-year-old Oliver described his 52-year-old partner as incredibly attractive. He explained that his personal growth has made him more open and vulnerable, which has actually enhanced their intimacy. He characterized their sex life as passionate and exciting, not calm or subdued, but deeply connected and fulfilling.

He continued, “I look at her every day, and I’m like, ‘God, she’s beautiful.’” 

Oliver didn’t just improve their intimacy through connection; he also addressed his long-standing anxiety, which had been affecting his life outside the bedroom.

Joshua Jackson, known for his role on Dawson’s Creek, revealed he used to experience panic attacks during intimate moments with his wife, Erinn. They share three children together: Wilder, 18, Bodhi, 15, and Rio, 12.

He explained that there weren’t any medications available at the time. He tried to cope by exercising and moving around, but that often triggered panic attacks. To deal with those, he’d try to find the humor in the situation, making light of it and even poking fun at himself once he realized it wasn’t life-threatening, despite how awful he felt.

Oliver, the oldest child of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, found his way back to a sense of normalcy by using journaling and meditation.

Although Oliver and Erinn now have a very close relationship, they experienced some difficulties early on. Last April, Oliver revealed that he was unfaithful to Erinn before their marriage.

Oliver recently shared that getting engaged was a difficult time for him emotionally, leading to a period of poor choices. He admitted to being unfaithful during that time, calling it a ‘crazy’ experience, during an episode of his podcast, Sibling Rivalry, with his sister Kate Hudson.

Although Oliver claimed he’d never been discovered, he confessed to Erin that he’d been unfaithful because he felt he couldn’t move forward with the marriage while keeping it a secret.

They eventually worked through this difficult time with therapy and open communication. While it was a challenging period for their relationship, Oliver doesn’t regret his past behavior.

He admitted that the experience had profoundly shaped him, saying, “I honestly don’t know who I’d be without it.” While he didn’t regret what happened, he did express remorse for any hurt he caused, stating, “I definitely regret causing pain. I never want to hurt anyone.”
