Olivia Culpo Reacts to Getting “Roasted” Over Her Hospital Baby Bag

Olivia Culpo isn’t going to apologize for her essentials. 

Following the arrival of their first child, a daughter named Colette Annalise McCaffrey on July 13, the former Miss Universe playfully addressed criticisms about her thoughtfully prepared hospital bag that contained flameless candles among other essentials.

In a 33-year-old’s words, although some fans disagreed with her list of necessities, it turned out that each item proved useful.

I was lightly criticized for what I brought along, but I ended up using everything, she reassured. When you’re recovering from a C-section and spending extended time in the hospital, having familiar items isn’t just a luxury – it’s essential. Sharing this experience in case it helps another woman who values comfort during her recovery.

On July 11th, Olivia posted on TikTok revealing the contents of her two big suitcases that she had brought to the hospital.

In her social media post, Olivia openly acknowledged her fussiness about pillows, saying ‘I’ve become quite particular about the kind of pillows I need.’ She added that she wasn’t willing to risk the quality at the hospital and planned to bring her own for a good night’s sleep. With motherhood on the horizon, she declared, ‘I’m going to be a mom!’

Apart from adding extra pillows, Olivia also prepared soft blankets, two full-sized comforters for herself and the San Francisco 49ers running back, as well as two sleep masks, portable fans, aromatherapy spray, and of course, her flameless candles. Regarding these last items, the ex-beauty queen confessed, “This is quite an extravagant touch.

Since Olivia wasn’t certain whether she would deliver naturally or via C-section, she prepared post-birth kits for both scenarios. Not surprisingly, the former Culpo Sisters alum also packed her essential self care items such as multiple sets of pajamas, makeup, hair and skincare products, and soothing items for breastfeeding.

Olivia acknowledged that much of it was more about luxury rather than necessity,” she said. “I’m fully conscious of this fact. I intended to enhance my hospital experience by making it more comfortable.
