Sabrina Carpenter doesn’t get under Olivia Rodrigo‘s skin.
Five years after speculation about a love triangle involving her, Disney star Joshua Bassett, and Sabrina Carpenter, the singer of “bad idea right?” recently revealed how things stand with Sabrina now.
Olivia recently told British Vogue that she thinks Taylor Swift is fantastic and is thrilled with all of her achievements, especially loving her latest album.
The 23-year-old, who previously dated her High School Musical: The Musical: The Series co-star from 2019 to 2020, had good things to say about Sabrina’s album, Man’s Best Friend. However, she hesitated to talk about her relationship with the singer, known as “Manchild,” in general.
She said people online often act strangely and use misleading headlines, but she clarified that there’s generally good intention behind it. She also mentioned she’s spoken with the person in question frequently.
Following the release of Olivia’s hit song “drivers license” in 2021, she thought about how the public reacted to rumors of a love triangle. At the time, people speculated that Sabrina and Joshua were dating, though this wasn’t confirmed, and Sabrina later released her own song, “Skin.”
Honestly, it just blows my mind when I meet these really young kids now, like teenagers. I actually think to myself, ‘Wow, you’re just a baby!’ It makes me realize how unbelievably harsh people were to me back then. I can’t even wrap my head around it sometimes – they were so mean!
This chapter was particularly challenging for Olivia, who was now dating 22-year-old Louis Partridge.
She remembered a really tough time when she was seventeen: she was going through a breakup, working full-time, still in high school, and taking three challenging college-level classes. Thinking about it now, she realizes that was the hardest period of her life.
After rumors spread about their friendship and whether Sabrina was the person mentioned in Olivia’s Grammy-winning song, the singer chose not to talk about what inspired the song.

She explained to Billboard in January 2021 that while she gets why people are curious about the song’s meaning and who it’s about, she doesn’t think that’s the most important thing. She believes the song connects with listeners because of its emotional impact, and that’s what really matters.
Sabrina was glad to share her reflections, but kept the explanation relatively brief.
She told Rolling Stone in June 2025 that a key lesson from that time in her life was learning to trust herself and believe things would unfold as they should. She also realized that people come into your life for a reason, even if you don’t understand it at the time – the meaning often becomes clear later on.
Even though Sabrina and Olivia have clearly moved past any disagreements, keep reading to find out about some of the most famous celebrity feuds.

In January 2024, Bobby (the second person from the left in the picture) spoke about rumors of a disagreement with Tan (in the middle). This came two months after Bobby announced he was leaving Queer Eye after being on the show for eight seasons.
He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from the show and isn’t related to romance. He wanted to make that clear.
I was really surprised to see the claims from March 2024 about Tan allegedly trying to get his friend, Jeremiah Brent, on Queer Eye instead of Bobby. It was a bit shocking to hear, and I’ve been following the show for a long time, so I was definitely interested to see how he would address it.
Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately earned it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t help them get the job by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained on Instagram.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter Kelly Osbourne on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that actor Danny Masterson, known from “That ’70s Show,” was the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a very rude and unpleasant person.
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset when he was on The Talk in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.
She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ She responded sharply, telling him, ‘Don’t underestimate me, because I will completely overwhelm you.’ She finished by saying, ‘You have no idea who you’re talking to, young man.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris clashed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, after Brittany posted a video on Instagram. In the video, she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition genders during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, adding that she enjoyed her current feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure had once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Soon after, Cameron Bure apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and that she was truly sorry for not taking the picture.
Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in holiday films, she stated it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed that Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional image without providing credit. Olivia responded with a message of support, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on Watch What Happens Live, the actor from Happy Days explained why he and the star of Forrest Gump didn’t get along while filming their 1989 movie, Turner & Hooch.
I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me, he said.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Many viewers of The Hills recall Lauren’s famous line from the start of season three. The conflict began when Heidi started dating her future husband, Spencer Pratt, and escalated when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and her then-boyfriend, Jason Wahler, involving a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out in 2017, starting with an Instagram post by Tyrese after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed until April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off film featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced for 2019. The next month, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.
Tyrese recently discussed the long-standing conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on The Red Pill podcast that he still hasn’t spoken to Johnson directly, though he hopes to in the future. He mentioned he did speak with one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not with Johnson himself.
Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations he’d heard from others involved with the franchise. He explained he was the one who spoke out, and he takes responsibility for that, saying it wasn’t professional or appropriate.

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to have even influenced Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which supposedly began because of a disagreement over a dancer and competition during their concert tours, ended when Perry sent Swift an actual olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared on Instagram that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and made some pointed comments about her co-star.
During a September 2017 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall’s statement to Piers Morgan that they had only been work acquaintances, not friends.
She was really upset about something, saying she felt heartbroken. They had talked about it the previous week, and she explained that she remembered things differently than the other person did, which she found very disturbing.
It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the shared experience we all had. It started as a job, but over the years, it became something deeply personal. I’m hoping that those years of working on something special, and the connection we all felt, will ultimately be more memorable than any recent disagreements. It was a real privilege to be a part of something so meaningful with so many people.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, sharply criticized Madonna’s live performances. He questioned whether lip-syncing could be considered a true live act and even made a controversial statement suggesting performers who lip-sync should face consequences, given the cost of concert tickets.

As a lifestyle expert, I remember when this happened – it was quite a moment in TV history! Back in 2008, the actress who played a prominent role on Grey’s Anatomy and the show’s creator had a bit of a disagreement. She actually asked to be removed from Emmy consideration, and she explained it simply: she didn’t feel the storylines she was given that season were strong enough to justify a nomination. It was a pretty bold move, and really spoke to her commitment to quality work.
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When people show you their true colors, pay attention,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week made headlines everywhere. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what caused the argument with Nicki.
Ugh, I can’t believe she’s still coming for me! Cardi was talking about this in W magazine, and she said she actually tried to talk to her twice before, they even seemed to reach some kind of agreement, but this person just wouldn’t let it go! It’s so frustrating to watch, honestly. Like, can’t she just leave Cardi alone?!
Honestly, things really blew up when Cardi saw that Nicki supposedly liked – and then quickly unliked – a tweet criticizing how Cardi parents. Nicki says she never actually did that, but that’s what set everything off, as far as I can tell.
Cardi B explained she turned down a potentially very profitable Bruno Mars tour so she could be with her daughter, something she prioritizes. She firmly believes she’s a great mom and found it frustrating that someone without children would criticize her choices. She also pointed out that opportunities to meet artists are rare, and she wasn’t going to pass up a chance just because of where she was.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve definitely followed the Kanye and Taylor story! It all kicked off way back in 2009 at the VMAs – you probably remember Kanye interrupting Taylor’s acceptance speech, which was a huge moment. Surprisingly, they actually patched things up and became friends for a while, but things took a turn again in 2016 with the release of his song ‘Famous,’ where he mentioned Taylor by name, and that really seemed to end their friendship.
Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for the action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”
The rumored rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began in 2003 during a German television interview. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey famously stated, “I don’t know her.”
