The upcoming film titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to make a significant impact for several reasons. Firstly, Robert Downey Jr., who has been absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe since “Avengers: Endgame“, is returning to the fold. Unlike his iconic character, Iron Man, he will be portraying Doctor Doom this time around. In addition to the usual array of heroes taking on the new villain, characters such as Captain America, Mister Fantastic, Thor, Ant-Man, and Black Panther are expected. Remarkably, Shang-Chi, who has been absent from the franchise almost as long as Iron Man, will also be joining the action.
Simu Liu’s martial artist made his debut in 2021 with the film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”. Despite initial low expectations for the movie, it turned out to be a delightful surprise, unveiling an unexplored part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brimming with potential. However, not every aspect of the movie was flawless. Here are seven points that remain confusing about “Shang-Chi”.
7) How Did Shang-Chi Survive On His Own for So Long?

At the outset of the film, our main character, Shaun, resides in San Francisco and is known by that name. Interestingly, Shaun harbors several hidden truths; it’s revealed he had an unstable childhood, leading him to leave home at a young age. Unlike his father, the Mandarin, Shang-Chi did not acquire skills such as holding a part-time job or mastering American history during his training. It continues to be a puzzle how Shang-Chi managed to survive financially after relocating to a foreign land.
6) Where Did the Ten Rings Come From?

Mandarin constructed his kingdom after finding weapons dropped from a meteor. Although comic books contain extensive information about the Ten Rings’ history, the movie Shang-Chi doesn’t delve into these origins. It only hints at it by showing Shang-Chi and Katy discussing with some Avengers about the power of these weapons and the light source within them.
5) Is Xialing Going to Continue Her Father’s Evil Ways?

In the film “Shang-Chi“, Shang-Chi was the Mandarin’s preferred son, which left Xu Xialing feeling overlooked. To find her own way, she established a thriving fight club, but the Ten Rings disrupted things. In an attempt to retaliate against their father, Xialing seized control of the organization by the end of the film. Acquiring what she desires is never a problem for Xialing; however, she appears uninterested in transforming the Ten Rings into an entity that serves the greater good.
4) How Did the Fight Club Stay a Secret for So Long?

The concept of a secret fight club for superheroes, particularly within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), filled as it is with metahumans, is truly captivating. In the film Shang-Chi, we see characters like former Red Room agents, sorcerers, and a prominent antagonist engage in this clandestine event. Yet, given the caliber of participants involved, it seems implausible that such an operation could remain hidden for so long without even one Avenger catching wind of it. After all, operations of such magnitude are typically not kept under wraps for extended periods.
3) Why Didn’t the Dweller-in-Darkness Reach Out to Anyone Else?

Shang-Chi’s life in San Francisco gets disrupted due to his father’s desire to revisit Ta Lo, a village from an alternate dimension, which was his late wife’s homeland. The Mandarin suspects his wife is being imprisoned there, but it’s revealed that it’s actually a malevolent force manipulating his thoughts. This dark entity utilizes the distraught villain to break free, demonstrating strategic thinking. However, the scheme could have been more effective if the monster had targeted someone stronger than the bearer of the Ten Rings.
2) How Did Katy Become Such a Good Archer?

katy chen stands by her best friend no matter what challenges they face, offering assistance in any way she can – including venturing into another dimension. In Ta Lo, Katy learns archery skills to protect herself when conflict arises. However, it’s not just self-defense that Katy provides; she plays a pivotal role by landing a crucial shot against the Dweller-in-Darkness. Although Katy shares a similar ability with Clint Barton, as shown in Shang-Chi, this connection is not explicitly confirmed within the movie.
1) Does the MCU Have Its Own Illuminati?

In a surprising twist, even the dragons and alternate world of Shang-Chi pale in comparison to its unexpected finale. Far from being the most intriguing aspect, that title is reserved for the post-credits scene, where Shang-Chi and Katy encounter Wong, Captain Marvel, and Bruce Banner. These three veteran superheroes are deliberating over the Ten Rings organization and seek information from Shang-Chi regarding their background. Although it’s common for heroes to band together in the MCU, this particular combination raises questions, as these characters don’t frequently interact.
