Bandai Namco recently unveiled the opening video for Once Upon a Katamari, rekindling memories of the quirky and entertaining nature of the franchise.
For the first time in a while, here comes an exciting time-traveling arcade adventure where you get to journey through various eras to gather significant artifacts from history and transform them into sparkling stars.
The intro video conveys that idea in the series’ usual quirky, jovial way, and it’s great:
The essence of the franchise seems to be preserved in the new game, even though its original creator, Keita Takahashi, is not participating.
Although the gameplay might not be as fresh as before, nothing else quite resembles the uniqueness of the Katamari series, which makes us eager for its comeback.
Releasing on PS5 on 24th October, it’s not too far off, either.
