A highly anticipated game, potentially one of the best of 2024, is launching on Xbox in the near future, as revealed by a recent leak. A common frustration for gamers is when games are only available on certain platforms. This ‘exclusivity’ often forces players to spend more money or wait a long time to play everything they want. Thankfully, we’ve seen more games becoming available on competing platforms like Xbox and PlayStation recently, although these deals often have a limited timeframe.
The remake of Silent Hill 2 for the PS5 was a particularly annoying exclusive deal. PlayStation and Konami agreed to keep the game only on PS5 and PC for one year. Last year, the game received widespread acclaim, with many calling it a top title and one of the best remakes ever. While frustrating for Xbox players, the exclusivity was limited to a year, suggesting it would arrive on Xbox around this fall – and it looks like that’s now happening.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Reportedly Releasing on Xbox Next Week
A listing on the Xbox Store revealed a potential release date of November 21st for the Silent Hill 2 remake, meaning the game could be available on Xbox Series X|S as early as next week. Because the information came directly from the official store, it’s likely to be accurate. It’s currently unknown whether the game will be included with Xbox Game Pass, though Microsoft might choose to do so to reward fans for their patience. While not confirmed, many expect Microsoft to announce upcoming games—possibly including a surprise release of Silent Hill 2 remake—during an upcoming broadcast with its partners.

It’s unclear if the remake of Silent Hill 2 will include the “Born from a Wish” story. This story was added to later versions of the original game and lets players learn Maria’s backstory. There’s been speculation that it will be added to the remake as downloadable content, possibly later this year. This content might be included with the Xbox version of Silent Hill 2, or released separately in the near future.
