Sci-fi and horror are huge, but action movies have a special appeal. Sometimes you just want a fast-paced story with exciting fights, unexpected plot twists, and maybe a thrilling car chase – especially when it features a hero who’s been called back into action after a long break. Luckily, Netflix is getting one of the best action films of 2025 – and a sequel to a surprise hit from 2021.
The action movie Nobody 2 is coming to Netflix on March 14th. It’s a sequel to the 2021 surprise hit Nobody, starring Bob Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, a former assassin. The first movie saw Hutch return to his old life after his family was targeted, and while it had a satisfying ending, it left room for more adventures. Nobody 2 finds Hutch’s vacation taking a wrong turn. Though it wasn’t a blockbuster in theaters, both fans and critics liked it, and many are hoping for another sequel.
Nobody 2 is an Action Film That Doesn’t Take Itself Too Seriously (That’s Why It Works)
I’m really excited about Nobody 2 because it’s not just another action movie. Yes, it has everything you’d expect – a fast-paced plot, surprising twists, great fight scenes, and a hero who gets pulled back into a dangerous life. But what I love is that it knows it’s an action movie and doesn’t take itself too seriously! It embraces the over-the-top action, and honestly, that’s what makes it so much fun and really works for the story.
Following the events of the first movie, Hutch is forced to return to his life as an assassin to pay off debts. This puts a strain on his family, and after a particularly draining assignment, he tries to reconnect with them on vacation. Unfortunately, trouble finds him in the form of an amusement park owner, escalating into a much larger conflict that pulls him back into the world of violence. The movie blends a family vacation setting with intense action and brutal fight scenes, creating a unique and surprisingly effective combination – imagine if the Home Alone movies were mixed with the John Wick franchise.
《Nobody 2》isn’t just a good sequel – it’s a genuinely great movie. While it takes the original in a new direction, it still feels familiar, but with everything turned up a notch. It’s a fast-paced, exciting ride, and Bob Odenkirk shines as an action hero. Fans are already eager for more adventures with Hutch, and although a third film hasn’t been confirmed, many are hoping the story will continue. Until then, you can stream 《Nobody 2》on Netflix starting March 14th.
