2026 is set to see one of its most anticipated games labelled as compatible with PS5 Pro Enhancement. While the PS5 Pro supposedly enhances game performance over the standard PS5, it’s not always been easy to showcase its superior power and justify the $800 price tag. To date, the number of PS5 Pro Enhanced games has fallen short of expectations. For those unfamiliar with the term, “Enhanced” means that developers have taken advantage of the additional power provided by the PS5 Pro, offering exclusive improvements and upgrades to its users.
In the future, it seems there aren’t numerous titles known to be enhanced for the PS5 Pro. The reason behind this is twofold: many games haven’t optimized themselves to this level for the console, and even those that have haven’t emphasized explaining these improvements. Furthermore, when a new game is advertised as being PS5 Pro Enhanced, the enhancements are seldom discussed in detail or revealed at all. Nevertheless, we do have some information on an upcoming PS5 Pro Enhanced game called “007 First Light“.
Some Nice Upgrades
More recently, IO Interactive, known for producing the Hitman series, has announced that the new James Bond game titled 007 First Light is set to launch on March 27, 2026. Upon release, this game will offer some enhanced features tailored for PlayStation 5 Pro users. Currently, the PlayStation Store does not show any indication of the game being compatible with PS5 Pro, which brings up a question about the communication regarding PS5 Pro games. However, IO Interactive and PlayStation have both confirmed on PlayStation’s official website that there will be additional benefits for those owning a PS5 Pro system.
IO Interactive guarantees enhanced console performance on various modes, promising a smooth 60 FPS experience not only in Performance Mode but also in Quality Mode. This feature seems to be exclusive to models other than the standard PS5. Moreover, the game promises advanced ray tracing, which incorporates realistic reflections, shadows, and superior global illumination. Lastly, Sony assures that the console’s PSSR technology will be utilized to optimize resolution and potentially increase it further.
While the updates aren’t revolutionary yet, they’re still early in development for the PS5 Pro. It’s likely that users will receive more enhancements than what’s currently available, but those details are yet to be finalized and won’t be unveiled until closer to the launch. In the meantime, players can anticipate updates for an upcoming Xbox release as well. For those seeking immediate improvements, they might want to check out last month’s big release, Mafia: The Old Country, which has received substantial upgrades specifically for PS5 Pro users.
