One of Hulu’s Best New Shows Lands on Disney+ Ahead of Season 2

Disney+ is adding more great content, and fans will be excited to know a popular show from Hulu is now available to stream! You can watch it now, just in time before the new season arrives next month. Throughout January, Disney+ has also added the original Indiana Jones films, Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and fresh episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. This new Hulu show is a welcome addition to the growing library of originals on Disney+.

All eight episodes of Season 1 of The Artful Dodger are now streaming on Disney+. The show originally premiered on Hulu in the U.S. two years ago, and is returning for Season 2 on both Disney+ and Hulu on February 10th. Starring Thomas Brodie-Sangster, David Thewlis, and Maia Mitchell, this series is a sequel to Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, taking place 15 years later. Set in 1850s Australia, the story follows the Artful Dodger, who has reinvented himself as a skilled surgeon after a life of pickpocketing.

The Artful Dodger Is a Hidden Gem

It’s been over two years since The Artful Dodger first came out, and it still hasn’t gotten the recognition it deserves – hopefully, that will change now that it’s available on Disney+. The show is simply fun to watch, offering a clever and fast-paced take on the classic Dickens story. It successfully mixes period drama with elements of crime, mystery, and romance. While it tackles important issues like social inequality, betrayal, and forbidden love in a modern way, it never gets boring. Plus, the actors are fantastic and have great chemistry together – they really make the show shine.

Still not convinced? The show received fantastic reviews! During its first season, The Artful Dodger earned a 96% audience score and a 92% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Lucy Mangan of The Guardian called it “fast, great fun, and surprisingly well-written,” and viewers praised it as “the best series in a long time” and “the most captivating and clever show ever.”

Will There Be an Artful Dodger Season 3?

It’s still uncertain whether the show will continue. Since Season 2 isn’t launching until next month, we don’t anticipate hearing about a potential renewal until after that. If Season 2 performs as well as the first, a third season of The Artful Dodger is very likely to happen.
