One Of March’s Most Anticipated Indie Games Just Got Delayed (But That Might Be a Good Thing)

The beginning of the year was a bit quiet for new game releases, but March 2026 is shaping up to be very busy! We’re getting the latest expansion for World of Warcraft, Pokemon Pokopia, and Marathon all within the first week. And the excitement doesn’t stop there – Monster Hunter Stories 3 and Crimson Desert are planned for release later in the month too. However, we just found out that one of the most anticipated games has been delayed, and surprisingly, that’s likely a positive development.

The indie game Replaced, which is exclusive to Xbox and Steam, has gained a lot of attention with over 50,000 wishlists. Originally planned for release in March 2026, the game has been delayed again. Now, this 2.5D cyberpunk platformer will launch on April 14th. While delays are always a bummer, pushing Replaced to April might actually be good news, especially with so many other great games coming out in March. It could give the developers more breathing room and ultimately benefit players.

Indie Platformer Replaced Delayed to April

Originally revealed in 2022, Replaced has become popular thanks to its beautiful 2.5D visuals and immersive cyberpunk setting. The game’s playable demo, released just last week, has generated even more excitement. Players who’ve tried it praise the fluid, simple combat and confirm that the game’s stunning art style looks just as good while playing as it does in the trailers. While the demo boosted anticipation, it also showed the developers at Sad Cat Studios areas where the game could be improved, leading them to postpone the release date.

After nearly four years of development and a few setbacks, the game Replaced is now scheduled to launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026. The release date has been adjusted slightly to ensure the game is fully polished, stable, and meets the developers’ original vision. They’re using feedback from the recent Steam demo to make some final improvements. The team stated that the positive response to the demo has been incredibly motivating. As a result, Replaced will now be released on April 14th, instead of March 12th.

Okay, so the game’s delay actually isn’t the worst news! It gives the developers extra time to polish things, which is great. But honestly, March was already shaping up to be packed with new releases, and it was starting to feel a little overwhelming trying to keep up with everything. April, though, is looking much more open. That means Replaced having a release date in April gives us a little more breathing room to actually enjoy it. I’m not sure if I’ll have finished Pokopia and Crimson Desert by April 14th, but it’ll definitely make juggling games a little easier, and I’m looking forward to it!
