After a long wait, a major PlayStation game might finally be coming to PC. These days, video games aren’t limited to just one system. Both Xbox and PlayStation have been releasing games on PC and even on each other’s consoles for quite some time. This year, Xbox brought titles like Forza and Gears of War to PlayStation 5, and PlayStation released *Helldivers 2* on Xbox. Gamers from a decade or two ago would be shocked by this! It’s a significant shift, and a necessary one, as growth has slowed down for individual gaming platforms.
A major shift happened when MLB The Show, traditionally a PlayStation exclusive for many years, became available on Xbox with the release of *MLB The Show 21* in 2021. It was a surprise when the game also launched on Xbox Game Pass, allowing subscribers to play it immediately. This wasn’t a decision made by PlayStation alone; Major League Baseball actually pushed for the game to reach a wider audience and more fans on different platforms. And now, even more players might get the opportunity to enjoy the series.
MLB The Show May Be Coming to PC
Fans have spotted job postings at San Diego Studio looking for developers with experience working on PC games. One listing, for a Senior Graphics PC Programmer, specifically mentioned helping to bring a major game to PC. While details are limited, it’s a clear sign that San Diego Studio is planning to release one of its games on PC.
Since 2017, the development team has primarily focused on the MLB The Show series. Their other games have usually been smaller, lower-budget titles, such as kart racing games. While it’s possible they’re helping with a PC port of another game, perhaps something like *Ghost of Yotei*, this seems unlikely. They haven’t been credited on any other PC ports, and their recent job posting suggests they aren’t structured to provide that kind of support.
While a completely new game is possible, it’s unlikely since the San Diego Studio mainly focuses on baseball. We advise you not to get your hopes up until an official announcement is made. It’s possible *MLB The Show 26* could arrive on PC next spring, but we’ll have to wait and see. PC gaming isn’t as popular for sports titles, which might explain why college football games haven’t been released on PC yet.
