One of the Best Animated Movies of the 2000s Is Streaming Free (And It’s Not From Disney or Pixar)

Disney and Pixar consistently create top-notch, hilarious animated movies, achieving blockbuster success after blockbuster success. This makes it challenging for other films to stand out. After a strong period for Disney in the 1990s, animation continued to thrive in the 2000s, with hits like *Finding Nemo* and *The Incredibles*. Now, a fantastic animated movie *not* made by Disney or Pixar is available to stream for free.

You can now watch *Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs* on Tubi for free! This animated movie, from Sony Pictures Animation, is based on the popular 1978 children’s book. It tells the story of an inventor who tries to help his town with a food shortage, but accidentally creates a machine that makes food rain down from the sky. He then has to find a way to stop the machine and prevent a total food overload!

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Rivals Even the Best of Disney and Pixar

Disney and Pixar are the clear leaders in animation, and that’s expected to continue. However, even with huge successes from films like *Finding Nemo*, *The Incredibles*, *Monsters, Inc.*, and *WALL-E*, *Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs* still stands out. It’s a well-regarded movie – earning an 85% score from critics and a 72% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes – and is considered one of the best animated films of the 2000s. It’s a fun, enjoyable movie for everyone and holds up well for repeat viewings.

As a movie fan, I was really surprised by how much this film took its simple story – originally just a 32-page book! – and ran with it. They created this totally original, wonderfully goofy world where it literally snows ice cream and rains hamburgers! The animation is just bursting with color, and the characters are designed with such exaggerated, quirky energy. Honestly, the sheer absurdity of the plot had me chuckling, but it’s the constant weird weather and the mix of quirky humor and slapstick that kept me laughing the whole time. It’s a movie the whole family can enjoy, and the voice cast is incredible – Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Faris, even Mr. T! It really brings everything to life.

Other Family-Friendly Movies Now on Tubi
