Right now, you can get one of the best BioWare games for just $1.49 – it’s 90% off until January 8th! BioWare doesn’t have the best reputation these days, largely due to a string of disappointing games. It started with Mass Effect: Andromeda in 2017 and reached a low point with Anthem in 2019. More recently, Dragon Age: The Veilguard continued this trend. If you’ve only been playing games for the last decade, you might think BioWare consistently delivers underwhelming experiences. But they weren’t always like this – BioWare used to be known as one of the top game developers.
BioWare has created some of the most highly-regarded RPGs ever, and many consider them to be among the best games in any genre. A prime example is Dragon Age: Origins, the original and arguably the best game in the Dragon Age series. This classic RPG from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era is currently available for just $1.49 through the Microsoft Store. This offer is for the Xbox 360 version, which can be played on newer Xbox One, Series S, and Series X consoles thanks to backward compatibility.
About the Game
Released in 2009, Dragon Age: Origins is a story-focused fantasy role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by EA. It was the first installment in the Dragon Age series and received critical acclaim, earning a score of 91 on Metacritic and selling millions of copies. While it might not be BioWare’s absolute best game – titles like Mass Effect 2, Baldur’s Gate II, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are strong contenders – it’s definitely among the studio’s top-tier offerings, alongside games such as Mass Effect, Mass Effect 3, Baldur’s Gate, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
In this game, you play as a Grey Warden, a member of a nearly extinct order dedicated to protecting the realm. As an ancient enemy returns and the kingdom descends into civil war, you’re destined to bring the land together and finally defeat the powerful archdemon. You’ll journey through a beautiful world, face difficult choices with lasting consequences, and battle enormous, frightening monsters.
