Ten weeks after it came out, Disney’s Zootopia 2 is still doing well in theaters worldwide and is now predicted to surpass even the most popular Captain America film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Following the huge success of the 2016 film Zootopia, which earned over $1 billion worldwide, Zootopia 2 continues the story. The original Zootopia was a record-breaker for Walt Disney Animation Studios and became one of the most successful animated movies ever made, especially with its strong performance in China.
Disney forecasts that Zootopia 2 will earn more at the box office than Captain America: Civil War, which made over $1.15 billion globally. If this happens, it would be a major success for Disney, making the sequel one of their highest-grossing ever – it’s already performing better than the first Zootopia movie.
