Streaming services are constantly changing what’s available. Every month, new shows and movies are added while others are removed. In September 2025, Netflix will add highly anticipated content like the final episodes of *Wednesday* Season 2 and popular films such as *E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial* and *Bridesmaids*. However, it will also lose a lot of content, including all seasons of a very popular and funny comedy series – though fans will still be able to find it on other platforms.
Netflix subscribers have until September 26th to watch all four seasons of the comedy *The Good Place*. The show, created by Michael Schur and starring Kristen Bell, is leaving Netflix because of an expiring agreement with NBCUniversal. Luckily for fans, all 53 episodes will become available on Amazon Prime Video on the same day.
Why You Should Watch The Good Place
Netflix is losing a popular show as *The Good Place* prepares to leave its streaming platform. Created by Mike Schur, the comedy mastermind behind *Parks and Recreation* and *Brooklyn Nine-Nine*, the series originally aired on NBC from 2016 to 2020. While Schur has created many successful comedies, *The Good Place* is particularly memorable for its funny writing, touching stories, unexpected turns, and lovable characters, including those played by Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Manny Jacinto, and D’Arcy Carden.
As a huge comedy fan, I can wholeheartedly say everything from Schur is gold, and *The Good Place* is one of those shows I find myself rewatching constantly. It’s clearly resonated with audiences too – it consistently scores around 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics adored it just as much, giving it an average of 97%, with seasons two and four hitting a perfect 100%! The show was also a major awards contender, racking up 13 Emmy nominations and even winning a Peabody Award in 2019 for its impact on television.
Other Titles Leaving Netflix This Month
Netflix subscribers have experienced several titles leaving the service this month, and sadly, *The Good Place* isn’t the only one. Throughout September, popular movies like *Anchorman*, *Barbarian*, *The Notebook*, and *The Polar Express* have already been removed. *The Good Place* will be one of the last shows to go, with only the first two seasons of *Chappelle’s Show* leaving on September 30th.
As some titles leave Netflix, even more new ones are coming! In September, subscribers can enjoy the third season of *Alice in Borderland* starting September 25th, plus classic romantic comedies like *10 Things I Hate About You* and *Sweet Home Alabama* on September 28th. And on September 30th, don’t miss the new Netflix documentary *Nightmares of Nature: Cabin in the Woods*.
