This weekend, Amazon’s Prime Video service saw a significant increase in popularity among movie enthusiasts as it added a highly-anticipated horror film from Universal to its collection. Typically, movies released theatrically by Paramount and Universal are made available on Prime Video following their exclusive runs on the original services. This agreement has been instrumental in bringing popular titles like this one to Amazon’s platform.
The film under discussion is “Nosferatu”, a vampire remake by Robert Eggers which premiered in December. Following overwhelming praise from critics and backed by several hit movies from Eggers, “Nosferatu” earned over $180 million at the box office.
Initially, just like other Universal films, “Nosferatu” was exclusively screened on Peacock when it debuted on streaming platforms. Recently, this exclusive run ended, enabling “Nosferatu” to move over to Amazon Prime Video.
Alongside its innovative spin on a classic horror tale, the movie Nosferatu boasts an exceptionally talented ensemble. Lily-Rose Depp plays Ellen Hutter, with Nicholas Hoult portraying her husband Thomas Hutter, and Bill Skarsgård bringing the chilling Count Orlok to life.
Coming Soon to Prime Video
The latest and largest movie, “Nosferatu,” has just joined Amazon’s streaming selection, but there’s more to look forward to in the upcoming week on their service. As we kick off July, Prime Video plans to add numerous new films to its collection. Titles like “Rocky,” “Mad Max,” “Robocop,” and “The Usual Suspects” are some of the movies scheduled to premiere on Prime Video next Tuesday.
