On Prime Video, there’s an abundant variety of TV shows catering to every genre and era for its subscribers. Lately, this diverse lineup has been given a chilling enhancement with the addition of a classic horror series that originally aired over a decade back. Despite having a brief run on television initially, this distinctively terrifying series is now widely recognized as one of the best the genre has produced in recent years.
The series being discussed is none other than “Penny Dreadful,” which first aired on Showtime in 2014. Its unique gothic atmosphere and stunning costumes made it stand out among other shows on TV at the time, and its horror elements further set it apart once they intensified. This month, all 27 episodes of the show have been added to Prime Video’s streaming service, having previously only been accessible on Paramount+.
It wasn’t until much later that viewers truly appreciated Penny Dreadful, unfortunately, by then the series had ended following its third season. However, over the past ten years, it has developed a significant cult fanbase.

The story revolves around the darker side of the supernatural world, with a focus on mythical beasts and the occult. In Victorian London, an explorer, a gunslinger, a medium, and Victor Frankenstein band together to combat these monstrous threats that haunt the city.
