A new Nintendo Switch game is launching on November 17th, and will also be available on PC. It won’t be released on any other consoles, including the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 – although it *will* be playable on the new console through backwards compatibility. The game’s price hasn’t been announced yet, and it looks like it will only be available as a digital download from the Nintendo eShop, with no physical copy.
The new Nintendo Switch game, *Forestrike*, is developed by Skeleton Crew Studios and published by Devolver Digital. While Devolver Digital is a familiar name in gaming, Skeleton Crew Studios might be less known. They’ve released a few games before, including the popular *Olija* from 2021. Though their previous games have been good, the studio is hoping *Forestrike* will be their big breakthrough – it remains to be seen if it will be.
About the Game
I’m really into this game called Forestrike. You play as Yu, a martial artist, and basically you’re traveling across the land to save the Emperor from this seriously bad admiral. The combat is awesome – it’s like a mix of strategy and puzzle-solving, but all done with really cool kung-fu moves. You have to plan your attacks and really *think* about how to beat everyone up, which is a lot of fun!
Forestrike seems like a really interesting and unusual game – there aren’t many titles coming out this year that look quite like it. A key feature is its “foresight” mechanic, which allows players to test out strategies without risk before battles even start.
Honestly, I’m still a little confused about why this game ended up being a Switch exclusive. It’s a bit weird! But, looking at the release schedule, there aren’t a ton of true Switch exclusives coming out before the year’s over. We’ve got some big Nintendo titles like *Metroid Prime 4: Beyond* on the way, but it sounds like most of those are also planned for the new Switch 2. It’s funny because a bunch of Switch games *are* dropping this month, but not many of them are exclusive to the console, you know?
We’d love to hear your thoughts! Please leave a comment below or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum. Are you planning to get this Nintendo Switch game when it comes out next month?
