One of the Wildest Anime Ever Returns With Season 2 After 6 Years (New Trailer Released)

After a six-year hiatus, a truly unique anime series is returning with new episodes this April, as revealed in a recently released trailer. This year has already been fantastic for anime fans, and there’s plenty more to look forward to. The upcoming Spring 2024 anime season is shaping up to be especially exciting, highlighted by the return of this highly anticipated show.

The anime series based on Q Hayashida’s Dorohedoro originally aired in 2020 and quickly became a standout title in a relatively slow year for anime, thanks to its unique and bizarre world. A second season was announced a few years later, though its release faced several delays before finally being scheduled for 2026. With the premiere now set for April 1st worldwide, a new trailer for Dorohedoro Season 2 has just been released and can be viewed below.

Dorohedoro Season 2 Confirms Release Date With New Cast & More

I’m so excited to share that Season 2 of Dorohedoro is officially coming out on April 1st! Toho Animation just announced the release date, and it’ll be available worldwide through streaming platforms – though they haven’t said which platforms just yet. If you need a refresher, or you’re new to the series, you can currently watch Season 1 on Netflix and a few other places. And there have been some cool updates about the voice actors and other details, so keep an eye out for those!

Season 2 of Dorohedoro will feature (K)NoW_NAME returning to perform both the opening theme, “Zettai Must Danmen,” and the ending theme, “Return To Head.” The new trailer also revealed the voice cast for the mysterious Cross-Eyes group, including Koki Uchiyama as Dokuga, Daiki Hamano as Tetsujo, Yuichi Koshimura as Saji, Katsuhito Nomura as Ton, Atsushi Imaruoka as Ushishimada, and Sara Matsumoto as Natsuki.

What to Know for Dorohedoro Season 2

Season 2 of Dorohedoro will have the same team behind the scenes as Season 1. Yuichiro Hayashi will direct at studio MAPPA, with Hiroshi Seko writing the scripts, Tomohiro Kishi handling character design, and [K]NoW_Name and Fairy_gone composing the music. Most of the original voice actors are also returning.

Season 2 of Dorohedoro will once again star Wataru Takagi as Caiman, Reina Kondou as Nikaido, Kenyu Horiuchi as En, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shin, Yu Kobayashi as Noi, Miyu Tomiya as Ebisu, Kengo Takahashi as Fujita, and many others. The anime was a standout release of the early 2020s – even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic – thanks to its unique world, striking visuals, compelling characters, and captivating story. Now, it’s coming back with an even larger fanbase eager to watch.
