One Piece Achieves Another Historic Milestone Ahead of Anime’s Return

Even after almost 30 years, One Piece continues to grow in popularity. Created by Eiichiro Oda, this popular series in Weekly Shonen Jump is known for its detailed world, memorable characters, and a compelling story that grabs readers right away. Though it began many years ago, the story isn’t close to ending. It entered its final storyline in 2022 and is now in the Elbaph Arc. While there are still many mysteries to solve and the ending is still some time away, the series is gradually building towards its conclusion. The official social media account recently announced that over 600 million copies have been sold worldwide.

For years, One Piece has been the best-selling manga ever, and it’s still gaining fans as the story unfolds. It was the first to sell 400 and 500 million copies, and now it’s far ahead of other manga series in terms of sales. Doraemon and Golgo 13 are the next best-selling, both with over 300 million copies sold. To celebrate reaching a major milestone, One Piece‘s creator, Eiichiro Oda, has made a big reveal about the legendary treasure, and the anime will return on April 5th, 2026.

One Piece’s Elbaph Arc in Anime Is Only a Month Away

The Elbaph arc is the one fans have been waiting for the most! For over twenty years, viewers have anticipated seeing the Straw Hat Pirates journey to the legendary land of the Giants. Elbaph was first introduced during the Alabasta Saga’s Little Garden arc, when Luffy and Usopp met Dorry and Brogy, two impressive warriors from the island. Now, they’re finally getting the chance to visit!

Immediately following the intense battle on Egghead Island, the Straw Hat Pirates set sail for Elbaph with the Giants. This story arc began in the manga in 2024 and has already clarified many secrets about the series’ history. It also introduced a remarkably powerful new character and revealed important details about a significant event from the recent past. The anime took a short break in December 2025 after finishing the Egghead Incident Arc.

The anime will be back on April 5th, continuing the adventures of Luffy and his crew. For the first time since it began in 1999, the show is switching to a seasonal release schedule with 26 episodes per year, similar to many other popular anime. The next story arc will feature new characters, including both friends and foes. Plus, because this arc connects to the ancient legend of the Sun God Nika, fans can anticipate learning more about the show’s hidden history.
