In anticipation for One Piece Day 2025, the franchise takes time to honor the birthday of one of its significant side characters – Dr. Vegapunk, who is celebrated as the brightest scientist in the One Piece universe. On August 9th, which marks his birthdate in Japan, the series shared two fresh depictions of Dr. Vegapunk on their social media platforms. One illustration showcases a playful and vibrant image of the doctor propelling himself skyward from Egghead Island using a jet, with his tongue wagging in the wind as it flaps behind him.

In another panel, we see an image straight from the manga, color-corrected in vibrant red. The title “Vegapunk” is displayed beneath it, with the numbers “0809” floating above. Known as the most brilliant mind in the One Piece universe, Dr. Vegapunk has been responsible for creating much of the advanced technology seen throughout the series. He was a character that both fans and characters had been familiar with for quite some time before making his actual debut during the Egghead Island arc. In the “One Piece” manga, we were initially introduced to one of Vegapunk’s satellites, which are mechanical beings that encompass one of Vegapunk’s key personas. Later on, the main version of Vegapunk, known as Stella, was unveiled. Each satellite embodies a primary characteristic that defines their entire persona, whereas Stella is the original Vegapunk’s physical form.
