In a statement about Black Clover Volume 37, which was translated by fan @nite_baron on X, the series creator Yūki Tabata explained that he got behind on his latest manuscript because of an unexpected event in Barcelona. He had to stay at a hotel near Shueisha after returning to Japan to complete Black Clover’s latest release before heading home.

The move to the “Jump GIGA” periodical, known for its lower expectations compared to the “Weekly Shonen Jump,” suggests a scarcity of room for creators, even in diverse platforms. Although Tabata’s remarks have shed light on this hard truth, it is Eiichiro Oda’s straightforwardness towards up-and-coming mangaka that has been resonating strongly, particularly within the Japanese audience.
