A recent trailer introduced these villains, including a character fans have nicknamed “Evil Shanks.” The trailer confirmed these antagonists are called the God’s Knights, and their leader, previously known only by his resemblance to Shanks, is named Saint Shamrock – the commander of the God’s Knights.

One Piece Reveals Evil Shanks With All the Right Elements

Shanks is highly respected by both Luffy and the Giants, making the reveal of an evil version of him in Elbaph a truly shocking twist. The trailer also highlights the arrival of Shamrock and the other God’s Knights in Elbaph to meet Loki, and they clearly believe they are superior beings – which makes sense considering their power rivals that of the Five Elders. The Straw Hats and Giants need villains of this magnitude; weaker opponents simply wouldn’t provide a worthy fight.
But the biggest surprise so far is the introduction of a villain who looks like Shanks. For years, fans have wondered if the real Shanks was secretly working with the World Government. Now we know this evil version isn’t Shanks at all – he’s a separate character, even voiced by a different actor. As the God’s Knights prepare to face Loki and reveal their plans for Elbaph, expect some huge twists. This reveal has made the Elbaph Arc even more anticipated, suggesting it will be much more than just a long-awaited storyline.
