Please be aware that this article reveals major plot points from the One Piece manga. The Elbaph Arc in One Piece is proving to be even more thrilling than fans anticipated. Hints about this arc were first dropped during the Little Garden Arc, when the Straw Hat crew encountered the Giant Warriors Dorry and Brogy. Inspired by their courage, Luffy and Usopp dreamed of visiting the legendary Land of the Giants. That dream becomes reality in the Final Saga, but they quickly discover the challenges there are far greater than expected. After a difficult escape from the battle with the Five Elders in Egghead, the crew arrives on Elbaph only to find the peaceful island under attack by the Holy Knights, who have taken children hostage.
Things took a turn for the worse with the arrival of Imu, the enigmatic ruler of the world. For eight years, the series kept the identity of the main villain a secret, only showing Imu as a silhouette – not even revealing if he was human. While chapter 1179 finally revealed his face, the newest chapter, 1180, gives fans their first look at his abilities.
One Piece Chapter 1180 Proves Imu Is The Biggest Threat in Elbaph

As soon as Imu reaches the island, they immediately try to take charge. The villain almost never leaves Pangea Castle, even when things look bad. Instead of showing up in person, they control their followers, taking over their bodies to fight. This happened during the God Valley Incident and in Elbaph, but Imu recognized the Holy Knights were losing. The moment Imu arrives, they free Sommers from Gerd’s control without even moving. Gerd’s fingers simply turned to dust.
Zoro and Sanji both tried to fight the Giant, but couldn’t defeat him. So far, we’ve only seen Imu control soldiers using Domi Reversi, but he’s incredibly powerful when facing many enemies. The chapter ends with Imu confronting Loki, the man responsible for killing his follower Harald and causing him trouble. Loki, in turn, is still seeking revenge for his father’s death, which led him to kill Harald.
