The second season of One Piece has arrived, and fans are loving it! Luffy and his Straw Hat crew are now embarking on adventures in the Grand Line.
As of today, the second season of the Netflix live-action series has received a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 14 reviews. Viewers also overwhelmingly loved it, giving it a 99% rating based on over 50 ratings.
This show is inspired by Eiichiro Oda’s manga and centers on Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they search for the famous treasure called the One Piece.
In Season 2, the group faces off against the dangerous criminal organization, Baroque Works. The season also welcomes new cast members Charithra Chandran and David Dastmalchian.
Director Emma Sullivan shared with TopMob that Oda was involved in the show’s creation, and she understands fans are deeply invested and want it to be great.
She explained that their goal was to make everyone happy, but they believed the best way to achieve that was by ensuring Oda was satisfied. If Oda didn’t like something, they would revise it until he did.
He’s essentially the main character, and if the creator, Oda, is satisfied with how things turned out, I think the fans will be too. We just hope we gave it our all.
It looks like fans are really enjoying the show’s continuation! Now, everyone is eagerly anticipating season 3.
