Created by Daiki Ihara in 2018 for Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+, One Piece In Love is an official spinoff of the popular One Piece series by Eiichiro Oda. The story centers around a group of children who connect through their mutual love for One Piece—and the fact that they all share names with the series’ main characters. The spinoff proved popular enough to receive a short anime adaptation that was released in Japan on social media.
The anime version of One Piece In Love was created by Miki Kobayashi, with Yu Kamatani and Hazuki Omoya directing at Toei Animation. It was released on social media in Japan last year before the second part of the Egghead Arc came out. Hanao Iida designed the characters, Midori Tanaka was the art director, Emi Nakajima handled the colors, and Kosuke Ohori was the director of photography. Ryosuke Kanemoto, Ayane Sakura, and Yuichi Nakamura voiced the main characters Luffy Yamamoto, Nami Koyama, and Usopp Nakatsugawa, respectively.
What’s Next for One Piece in 2026?

Even though the current One Piece side story is finishing with its next issue, there’s still a lot coming for fans this year. First up, the live-action One Piece series returns to Netflix with its second season on March 10th. One Piece: Into the Grand Line will feature new characters as Luffy and his crew begin their journey into the Grand Line, and they’ve already started working on a third season.
The anime is currently paused for a few months. Instead of releasing episodes weekly like it used to, it’s switching to a seasonal format. A new season with 26 episodes is planned to start in 2026. The season, One Piece: Elbaph Arc, will premiere in Japan on April 5th, meaning fans won’t have to wait too long for more One Piece!
