In the vast world of anime and manga, the long-lasting series “One Piece” boasts a multitude of memorable villains. While personalities such as Donquixote Doflamingo, Sakazuki, and Enel frequently capture the affections of fans, other high-ranking villains like the Five Elders often receive less admiration. To put it frankly, they aren’t particularly endearing in any way. It’s not due to their weakness or cruelty, which certainly meet the villainous standards set in “One Piece.” Rather, it’s because they lack the charm and depth of character that great villains should possess within such a multi-layered series. Perched atop the world, they appear invincible and well aware of their unchallenged position, which can prove distressing to witness.
For an extended period, the Five Elders have carried out Imu’s clandestine tasks, causing immeasurable harm to numerous lives along the way. Characters beloved by fans like Robin and Kuma have suffered greatly due to the actions of the Elders. Unremorseful in their pursuit of what they deemed right for the World Government, they have consistently disregarded the well-being of those underfoot. In recent manga chapters, including Chapter 1157, there are hints that the Five Elders could be involved in the demise of Rocks D. Xebec, potentially even more than just his death.
The Five Elders Orchestrated Rocks D. Xebec’s Death In the Cruelest Way Possible
Decades past our encounter at Reverie, I found myself surprisingly forming a strong camaraderie with the enigmatic figure known as Rocks. Time and again, he returned to Elbaf, seeking to persuade Harald to join his crew, though his true intentions remained concealed beneath layers of secrecy. Unbeknownst to many, Rocks held great admiration for the Giant King, regarding him not only as a potential ally but also as a cherished friend. Contrary to appearances, Harald never shunned Rocks, instead, welcoming his company and sharing moments with him regularly. As our bond deepened, it was unfortunately interrupted by the ever-present meddling of the Five Elders.
In simple terms, it seems logical that those in power, the World Government, wish for Rocks’ demise as he poses the greatest danger to them. Yet, they are manipulating Harold’s desperation to align with them, hoping this alliance will improve life for the Giants. As the story unfolds in Chapter 1157, Saint Marcus Mars implied that the World Government would only support Elbaf if Harold killed Rocks. Whether Harold turns against Rocks or not remains to be seen in future chapters. It wouldn’t be out of character for the elders to play underhandedly, potentially orchestrating both Rocks’ death and Harold’s predicament.
