Season 3 of One-Punch Man was a major disappointment for fans, and unfortunately, it seems future seasons will be made in the same way. The new season was highly anticipated after a six-year break, and many hoped for improved animation, especially since the second season had issues following a change in animation studios. Fans expected significant improvements, but Season 3 didn’t deliver.
The anime’s quality dipped, and fan complaints led many to believe the show might be cancelled or significantly changed. However, that fear proved unfounded. Season 3 isn’t over and will return with a second part in 2027, as announced on the official One-Punch Man anime X account shortly after today’s final episode. Considering the strong negative reaction to this season, the announcement came as a surprise, and has already sparked criticism from fans who have legitimate concerns.

Many fans were hoping a new animation studio would take over the upcoming season of One-Punch Man, but it seems J.C. Staff will be returning to finish adapting the Monster Association arc from the manga. The announcement of their return has upset some fans, especially because it didn’t include any new artwork, which is common when a new season is revealed.
The attached image is simply a modified version of the original poster, now showing Garou and Saitama facing each other instead of being separated. Many fans are worried because the next part of the show will animate what’s considered one of the best fights in the series. Since this fight—between Garou and Saitama at the peak of this story arc—will be in Season 3 Part 2, fans were hoping a different animation studio would handle it.
It looks like the anime’s future is now decided, and all fans can do is wait and hope for a strong finish. One possibility is that the studio, J.C. Staff, was intentionally pacing themselves, saving their best work for the final battle – which might explain why the first part wasn’t as strong, despite a few great scenes. Either way, One-Punch Man Season 3 is confirmed for 2027, and at least fans won’t have to wait too long to see it.
