Season 3 of One-Punch Man was highly anticipated, but also sparked a lot of debate. The anime was once praised for its excellent animation, but Season 2 was a disappointment. This made fans worried about the new season, and the director’s admission that it wouldn’t be as good as Season 1 only added to their concerns. However, fans were still shocked by just how much the quality had declined.
Episode 6 has received widespread criticism and is considered the worst in the series, currently scoring a 2 out of 10 on IMDb. This makes it the lowest-rated anime episode ever for the series, and one of the lowest-rated episodes in anime history. While several issues contributed to the negative reception, the main problem seems to be the weak development of this season.
One-Punch Man Season 3 Hits a New Rock Bottom

With each new episode of Season 3, the animation problems became more and more noticeable. Issues like King’s unusually feminine design and a strangely animated fight scene with Garou quickly became popular memes, pointing out the lack of polish and attention to detail. Episode 6 was particularly bad. While the story’s pacing also has problems, the visual errors really stand out – for example, the top of Atomic Samurai’s hair was cut off in one scene. These issues show that the biggest weakness of One-Punch Man Season 3 is its animation, which used to be one of the show’s strongest points in Season 1.
The anime’s poor quality is unacceptable, likely due to a careless adaptation by the production team. They had plenty of time, and fans would have preferred a delay if it meant a better result, especially after the issues with Season 2. Fortunately, there’s still one potential positive that could improve things.
The latest episode was particularly weak, leaving many wondering where the series can go from here. A large battle is coming up next, and fans are hoping the animation studio, J.C. Staff, has put extra effort into making it look good. However, it’s also possible the animation could get even worse, potentially causing lasting damage to the show’s quality.
