Capcom is making a strong appearance at Gamescom Opening Night Live, showcasing fresh gameplay for the upcoming title, “Onimusha: Way of the Sword.” Set to release next year on platforms including Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, this action-packed game follows protagonist Miyamoto Musashi as he engages in fierce battles against various Genma entities.
As a devoted admirer, let me share my insights: You might think that encountering a demonic swordsman is your greatest challenge, especially considering they seem to outmatch Musashi’s formidable skills. However, there’s more to beware of! Encountering gelatinous masses with numerous faces can prove even more perplexing, for when you divide them, they multiply instead of disappearing. To add to the intrigue, a mythical Yokai, Nue, makes an appearance, bringing down bolts of lightning. Initially, it seems that piercing its face could be the solution, but then it starts maneuvering Musashi around, making the battle unpredictable indeed!
Additionally to the katana used for blocking and slaying foes, players will have the option to carry a bow and arrow capable of igniting explosive barrels, as well as a twinblade staff that summons a potent whirlwind of fire. Look forward to discovering further additions in the time leading up to release.
While there may be elements reminiscent of Souls-like games, Capcom clearly states that it’s not an open-world game. For additional details about the gameplay, follow this link.
