
Capcom has released a new trailer and screenshots for Onimusha: Way of the Sword introducing the XXX.

Capcom’s online presentation for Tokyo Game Show 2025 revealed a new trailer for *Onimusha: Way of the Sword*, showcasing the story and mysterious events that kick off the game’s dark fantasy adventure. The trailer also introduced several new characters who will be important to the game’s action-packed story.
When Miyamoto Musashi arrives in Kyoto, he’s attacked by terrifying demons called Genma. Nearly defeated, he receives a magical gauntlet – the Oni Gauntlet – which gives him the strength to fight back. But Musashi is a proud warrior who wants to rely on his own skill, so he decides he must find a way to break his connection to the gauntlet’s power.







Throughout his travels, Musashi meets two interesting people who were real historical figures: Izumo no Okuni and Ono no Takamura. A mysterious voice guiding him from within his gauntlet leads him to Takamura, an experienced swordsman who also wears a gauntlet. He also encounters Okuni, a celebrated dancer famous for creating Kabuki, who has left performing to find a way to fight the Genma.
New gameplay footage shows Musashi battling enemies in the streets of Kyoto, including a fast and dangerous serpent-like creature called Togemaru, covered in spikes. While Musashi doesn’t want to use his powerful Oni Gauntlet, he’ll need to rely on it to defeat these strong opponents.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam in 2026.
