
Patrick Murray, best known for playing Mickey Pearce in Only Fools and Horses, has died aged 68.
Murray became well-known for playing Mickey Pearce, the confident and slightly arrogant character who was a regular in the popular BBC sitcom that aired from 1983 to 2003.
Murray was famous for his funny delivery and bold attitude. His character frequently argued with Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst) and was well-known for exaggerating his accomplishments in business.
Throughout the 22-year run of the show, he featured in 20 episodes, playing a key role in establishing Only Fools and Horses as one of Britain’s most beloved comedies.
An Only Fools and Horses fan account on X shared a statement saying: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our friend Patrick Murray – known to many as Mickey Pearce. He frequently joined us at our events, and we will fondly remember his wit and the happiness he brought to so many.”

Murray was born in London and later lived in Thailand for a number of years. It was there he met and married Anong in 2016. They have one daughter named Josie.
Murray maintained a strong connection to Only Fools and Horses for the rest of his life, frequently participating in events like fan gatherings and cast reunions.
Outside of the BBC sitcom, Murray built up a varied career on both the big and small screen.
He first gained recognition in the late 1970s, acting with Ray Winstone in both the BBC television drama Scum and the 1979 movie version. In that same year, he also appeared in the popular film Quadrophenia, alongside stars like Sting, Toyah Willcox, Michael Elphick, and Timothy Spall.
He continued his career with appearances in films like Curse of the Pink Panther (1983), and also took on various roles in television shows during the 1980s and 1990s.
