It remains uncertain as to whether or when Marvel Studios will ultimately create the eagerly anticipated remake of Blade. After revealing plans for Blade in 2019 and Mahershala Ali being cast as the central character, Daywalker, Marvel has moved a step backwards on numerous occasions. The departure of cast members and crew along with no confirmed release date at present makes it challenging to predict if or when we’ll witness the new version of Blade. On the bright side, there are currently three live-action Blade films available, and streaming them is now more convenient.
To kick off this month, all three films from the original “Blade” series have been added to Paramount+’s streaming library. This means that the entire franchise is now accessible on a single platform, an occurrence less common than one might imagine. The first movie, released in 1998, as well as its sequels, 2002’s “Blade II” and 2004’s “Blade: Trinity”, are now all available for streaming on Paramount+.
If you’re keen on streaming the Blade films featuring Wesley Snipes on Paramount+, you should do it quickly as they’ll be leaving the platform by the end of this month, having been added just on September 1st.
Halloween Streams on Paramount+
In September and October, I’d highly recommend the “Blade” films for comic book enthusiasts. While they may not fit traditionally into the horror genre, they certainly incorporate enough spine-tingling elements that make them a great watch. Particularly the first two installments, which are rich in practical gore and vampire folklore. Interestingly, “Blade II” was directed by Guillermo Del Toro, who’s known for masterfully blending horror and heroic characters – just look at his work on “Hellboy”.
For those seeking a more classical horror experience, Paramount+ has emerged as a go-to platform this autumn. Starting in early September, they’ve enriched their offerings with a host of significant horror titles, including the Blade trilogy.
Among the fresh inclusions are films like Cloverfield, World War Z, Scary Movie (series), Scream 4, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sleepy Hollow, The Crow, The Faculty, The Ring, and the first eight Friday the 13th movies.
Among the streaming platforms, it seems Paramount+ has made the most significant strides in horror content this month, surpassing competitors such as Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu. You can check out the complete list of new horror releases here. However, it’s hard to predict which of these horror movies will still be available by Halloween. Some titles, like Blade, might only be temporary rentals on Paramount+ and could switch to another streaming service once their contract expires.
