Even though the last Ocean’s movie with George Clooney and Brad Pitt came out in 2007, a fourth film featuring the original cast has been in the works for a while. Development has been slow, but Ocean’s Fourteen is now officially moving forward. Rumors about the project and potential directors – including Edward Berger and Steven Soderbergh – started as early as June 2021, and in January, David Leitch (known for The Fall Guy and Bullet Train) was reportedly being considered as director. Now, news has surfaced that a familiar face from the Ocean’s series will be joining the cast.
According to a report in The Wrap, Andy Garcia will reprise his role as Terry Benedict in Ocean’s Fourteen. While promoting the new season of Landman, Garcia mentioned his character would “be back for more.” He also shared that filming for the sequel was originally planned to begin in January 2026, but has been delayed due to scheduling issues. These delays are likely connected to Brad Pitt’s commitment to The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a Netflix sequel to Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, which is being directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino.
The biggest remaining challenge is coordinating everyone’s schedules. George Clooney mentioned in October to E! News that they had secured funding from Warner Bros. and were working on a start date. He estimated filming would begin in about nine to ten months, with Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and Julia Roberts all set to appear. Clooney recently had dinner with Roberts and confirmed they are all still close friends, and excited about the prospect of working together again.
Andy Garcia Could Be the Antagonist of ‘Ocean’s Fourteen’

Warner Bros.
With Andy Garcia returning as Terry Benedict, it’s likely he’ll be an opponent again in the new film. He previously went head-to-head with Danny Ocean in Ocean’s Eleven and played an adversarial role in the following two movies. Their complex history in Ocean’s Thirteen suggests he could be either the main villain or an uneasy ally who might betray Danny’s crew.
Besides Ocean’s Fourteen, another Ocean’s movie is in the works: a prequel starring Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper. Lee Isaac Chung, known for films like Twisters and Minari, is directing. This new film will be set in Europe during the 1960s. The Ocean’s series has evolved significantly since the very first movie in 1960, which featured Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack.
