Although the TV show *The Expanse* ended before it could tell its complete story, it remained a popular favorite. Now, the world of *The Expanse* is returning with a new video game, *The Expanse: Osiris Reborn*. This third-person action RPG lets players experience a new adventure where they must keep their crew united and work together to fight a formidable enemy. While there have been other ways to enjoy *The Expanse* beyond the show, *Osiris Reborn* offers fans something the TV series couldn’t: a chance to continue the story.
If you’ve read the books by James S.A. Corey, you know all about Belters – people born and raised in the asteroid belt. They’re physically different from us Earth-dwellers, usually much taller and thinner. In the TV show, we barely saw any Belters – just one in the first episode. But the game, *Osiris Reborn*, is a game-changer! You can actually *play* as a Belter, along with Earthlings and Martians, and that’s something the show never really got to explore. It’s awesome because it lets you experience life from their perspective, which is a huge deal for fans of the series.
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Could Create the World the Show Couldn’t

Although a Belter appears briefly in the first episode, the scene depicts them being tortured by Chrisjen Avasarala using gravity. Because Belters have adapted to living in low gravity, some people began exploiting this weakness to extract information. They would bring Belters to Earth and use the planet’s strong gravity as a form of torture.
Aside from that initial scene, the Belters aren’t featured much in the rest of the show, probably because creating their distinctive appearance consistently throughout a whole season was either too difficult, too costly, or a combination of both.
Video games offer a different experience, though, because many of the limitations from the show don’t apply. We’ll probably see a lot more Belter characters, and in the game *Osiris Reborn*, you can even *play* as a Belter ship captain – something that wasn’t really possible in the original series.

These screenshots offer our first glimpse of the game. They show a player character who appears slightly taller than other characters, but no matter who you play as, the game will be viewed from a third-person perspective. You’ll use cover and different weapons to progress through each level.
Between battles, you’ll focus on building relationships with your teammates. Your decisions, especially when things get tough, will affect how those relationships develop. During combat, two companions will fight with you directly, while others will provide support from afar using skills like hacking or creating diversions.

As you explore the game, you’ll travel to famous places like Ganymede, Ceres, Mars, and the Moon. You’ll meet people, discover hidden secrets, and use your abilities to affect the story. Plus, you might even recognize some familiar characters or voices along the way!
The game *The Expanse: Osiris Reborn* is coming to Steam, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced. Players interested in getting a head start can purchase Founders Packs, which come in Standard, Deluxe, Miller’s, and Collector’s Editions. Each pack offers unique exclusive items as a thank you for being an early supporter.
