After being announced for PC last year, Outward 2 from Nine Dots Studios will be released in Summer 2026. You can watch the newest trailer below, showcasing features like split-screen and online co-op, as well as improved combat responsiveness.
Following up on the 2019 open-world RPG, Outward 2 builds on the immersive fantasy experience, where almost everything you do has a real impact. You start the game as a regular person, but you can choose from three different scenarios and 11 backgrounds to shape your character’s beginning. The world of Aurai features four main areas, each with its own distinct environments, and a full year-long seasonal cycle.
Okay, so this game is tough – I mean, it’s a challenge right from the start, and honestly, it pretty much *stays* challenging! But don’t worry, you can find trainers to help you level up and the Exercise system is really useful for boosting your character’s passive abilities. I also really like that each weapon has its own unique moves. It makes combat feel way more fluid and dynamic. Oh, and a lifesaver? You can hire a pack mule to carry all your loot – seriously, you’ll need it!
If you’re eager to try the game before it launches, Nine Dots Studios is planning a playtest. They haven’t announced the dates yet, but you can pre-register on Steam to stay informed.
