Team17, a publisher, and Ghost Town Games, a developer, have unveiled “Overcooked! 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.” This new version is set to release this winter at a price of $29.99, £24.99, or €29.99. Owners of the original Nintendo Switch edition will be able to upgrade to the “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” for just $9.99, £7.99, or €9.99.
Initially released on August 7, 2018, across platforms such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux, “Overcooked! 2” later expanded to Luna (October 20, 2020), Xbox Series X/S (November 10, 2020), and PlayStation 5 (November 12, 2020). The versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series can be found within the “Overcooked! All You Can Eat” bundle, which encompasses both original “Overcooked!” games as well as all additional content. This collection is also accessible on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Here is an overview of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, via Team17:
The updated edition of “Overcooked! 2” introduces the familiar kitchen madness you’re accustomed to, along with unique features exclusively available on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Enhanced graphics in line with PC
- 4K resolution / 60 frames per second gameplay when docked—enjoy those kitchen fires in 4k
- Camera Play—enjoy all the laughter AND the shouting
- Game Share
- A new Platinum Platypus Chef
As a dedicated gamer and foodie, I’m thrilled to know that I can continue enjoying my favorite cooking games on the Nintendo Switch while still connecting with chefs playing on other platforms! Plus, any additional content I’ve downloaded will stay with me throughout this culinary journey. And for those who share my concern about save files, rest assured-progression can be seamlessly transferred between both platforms, so no tasty progress goes to waste!
