A new Halloween-themed season is coming to *Overwatch 2*! Season 19, called Haunted Masquerade, starts October 14th and features heroes wearing each other’s masks. Don’t worry, it’s not quite the same as the Festival of the Lost in *Destiny* – you can see what it’s all about in the launch trailer below.
Taking on the identity of another hero grants you unique abilities – for example, you can use Orisa’s Javelin while disguised as her, create a Sojourn-style Disruption Field, or even have Winston rewind time like Tracer. What’s really cool is that if you use a mask on heroes with a shared history, you’ll see that familiar scene of Reinhardt and Brigitte combining their shields, a nostalgic nod to the game’s story.
This season brings back popular game modes like Junkenstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride. Players can also battle as three new heroes – Torbjörn, Hazard, and Sojourn – in a new fight, and compete on the new Busan Sanctuary Control map. To shake things up, we’re introducing Gadgets – single-use items that can change the course of a match, such as the Kitsune Charm to remove negative effects, or Jet Skates to quickly escape and evade opponents.
A new Battle Pass and a special Mythic Skin for Lifeweaver are on their way! We’ll share more information about the new season when it launches.
