Ozzy Osbourne’s infidelities nearly cost him his marriage.
In his newly released memoir, Last Rites, the late Black Sabbath singer openly discussed his 2016 split from his wife, Sharon Osbourne. He admitted to being unfaithful and detailed the tough talks they had after she discovered he’d had multiple affairs. He passed away in July at the age of 76.
He explained in his book about his affairs that eventually you reach a point where you feel stuck, constantly worrying about the people you’ve been with because you fear they’ll talk to the media. That’s exactly what ended up happening to him.
Ozzy said Sharon, his wife since 1982, was justified in leaving him after the shocking news came out, and that she scolded him for not being more careful.
According to the recollection, Sharon said to Ozzy, ‘What did you expect?’ She explained that if someone has many romantic partners, eventually one of them will want something more serious, and that person could cause problems for everyone involved.
Ozzy and his wife got back together just a few months after splitting up, but Ozzy admits he still feels remorseful for the pain his actions caused their children—Aimee, 42, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39.
He admitted he deeply hurt his wife, and he feels fortunate she was able to forgive him. He also expressed his sincere apologies to everyone he’s harmed, especially his children, who suffered as a result. He doesn’t want to discuss it further, as he believes revisiting the past only causes more pain.
After a brief separation, Sharon, now 73, stayed devoted to her husband until he passed away. She’s now finding comfort in the support and kind words from her fans as she grieves.
In a September Instagram post, Sharon shared how deeply touched she is by the incredible support she’s received online. She said the kind comments, posts, and heartfelt tributes have meant more than words can say, and have truly helped her through some difficult times. She wanted everyone to know she appreciates every single gesture.
