Ozzy Osbourne was living life to the fullest until the very end.
Just over two months after Black Sabbath’s singer passed away on July 22nd at the age of 76, a preview for Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home shows the final years of the rock star’s life alongside his wife, Sharon Osbourne. It also details their feelings about their family, including their children Aimee Osbourne, 42, Kelly Osbourne, 40, and Jack Osbourne, 39.
In the trailer, which came out on Oct. 1, Sharon maintains that their family life is typical. Ozzy playfully counters this in a separate interview, stating, “I wouldn’t say we’re fking normal.”
Further into the trailer, Ozzy’s wife, who he’s been married to for 43 years, asks him if he’d like a peaceful life. He responds with, “No, yes. But no.”
But the new documentary, which will be released on Oct. 2, also shows what everyday life is like for Ozzy and Sharon.
“He’s incredibly romantic,” Sharon shares in other parts of the interview. “He continues to leave me sweet little notes. I might open a drawer and find a note he’s written.”
Later, Kelly also shares what it is like for them to see her parents somewhat slow down.
She explained that it’s impossible for him to go unnoticed-he is, after all, Ozzy Osbourne. Later, speaking about both of her parents, she added, “I don’t think either of them will ever be able to retire.”
Since the documentary focuses on Ozzy-who is also father to Jessica Osbourne, Louis Osbourne, and Elliot Osbourne with his former wife, Thelma Riley-and features Sharon and him going back to their homeland of England, the “Crazy Train” singer also talked about his feelings about leaving Los Angeles.
“I feel like I’m finally home,” he admits in another confessional. “This is my home.”
Sharon then inquired of her husband what aspects of being back home in Birmingham he anticipated most. He playfully responded, “Doing absolutely nothing.”
The new BBC documentary was initially planned to air on August 18th, but it was unexpectedly removed from the schedule as a sign of respect for the Osbourne family.
Following Ozzy’s passing, the project’s producers, Ben Wicks and Colin Barr, released a statement saying it was a true honor to have worked with Ozzy, along with Sharon, Jack, and Kelly. They explained that Ozzy’s biggest wish was to perform in the U.K. one final time, and that their film beautifully captures his journey to achieve that dream.

Before they were famous as Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Tommy Iommi played music together under the name Earth.
The heavy metal band members were ready to rock as they posed for this shot.
Ozzy, whose birth name is John Michael Osbourne, was born in Birmingham, England, in 1948. He didn’t enjoy school much at first, but his love of music eventually helped him succeed.
“I didn’t leave school much smarter than when I began,” he explained to The Associated Press in 2010. “My dyslexia made learning difficult, and my sister often made fun of me because I struggled with reading. It was a really embarrassing experience.”
“I really owe a lot to The Beatles for getting me interested in music,” he said. “Music is what ultimately allowed me to leave my hometown, the place where I grew up.”
In 1968, he started the band Black Sabbath with some friends, taking the name from a film of the same title. Their first album, also called Black Sabbath, became very popular. He married Thelma Riley in 1971, and they had three children: Jessica Osbourne, Louis Osbourne, and Elliot Kingsley.
During the band’s performance at the California Jam music festival, the singer of “Paranoid” – wearing sparkling pants decorated with a snake – hugged members of the audience.

Ozzy enjoyed participating in a darkly themed photo shoot. He had been let go from Black Sabbath the previous year because he was battling with alcohol and drug addiction.
“I used money as a substitute for alcohol and drugs, and I acted terribly,” he explained in his documentary Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, reflecting on that period. “It was truly one of the most difficult times of my life.”
Ozzy, performing as a solo artist, appeared at Madison Square Garden during his Diary of a Madman tour. This happened only two days after the now-famous incident where he bit into a dead bat thrown onto the stage, mistakenly thinking it was a prop.
In the documentary, Ozzy explained, “I initially believed it was a fake rubber bat,” and continued, “I instinctively put it in my mouth and bit down. I simply bit into it, you know, acting like the foolish person that I am [and then realized], ‘Oh no! It was a real bat!”‘
Later that year, he married his manager, Sharon Arden.
Ozzy Osbourne, known as the “Iron Man” singer and recognizable by his signature dark eyeliner, was photographed with a cigarette before a show in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He and his wife, Sharon, later welcomed their daughter, Aimee Osbourne.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always admired couples who make time for each other, and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are a perfect example! They’ve been happily married since 1982, and recently enjoyed a beautiful getaway to Brazil. It’s wonderful to see them still prioritizing romance and family – they’re also the proud parents of Jack Osbourne, whom they welcomed with open arms.
