After the launch of Pac-Man World Re-PAC in 2022, Bandai Namco has begun sharing more information about its sequel – Pac-Man World 2 Re-PAC. The company recently unveiled a new trailer displaying gameplay from the remade platformer and announced that the title is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and the Switch 2 on September 26. The new trailer for “Pac-Man World 2 Re-PAC” highlights enhancements from its previous version, while also explaining the game’s central concept. In this game, you play as Pac-Man and your mission is to locate ghosts and retrieve the golden fruits. To accomplish this, you’ll traverse various locations within Pac-Land, such as Snowy Mountains, Paradise Meadows, and even the Ocean.
In terms of gameplay, Pac-Man returns to his classic move set from the original “Pac-Man World”, supplemented by some fresh maneuvers. These new additions include the Flip Kick, Super Butt-Bounce, and Ice Skating, among others. The game offers additional vehicle segments, such as an underwater level featuring Pac-Marine, who can launch torpedoes.
The trailer unveils an innovative new game mode, dubbed “Fairy Mode,” for players who find the original 3D platforming gameplay overly difficult. This mode helps out by providing additional stable surfaces to jump on in areas where the player dies frequently due to hazards. For instance, a bridge with collapsing parts becomes less perilous with Fairy Mode as it adds extra blocks to stop players from falling.
Additionally, you’ll catch a glimpse of some extra features coming to Pac-Man World 2 Re-PAC, including a Time Trial mode where players strive to complete the game’s levels as swiftly as possible. Furthermore, players can gather figurines via Gashapon machines and subsequently utilize them for embellishing Pac-Village’s residence. History enthusiasts of gaming will find delight in both the original Pac-Man, along with additional mini-games such as Pac-Attack and Pacmania, which can be enjoyed within Pac-Village.
